Catch the Wave OC
We kicked off Catch the Wave in Orange County at Celebration Church with friends joining us from several churches in the area. We led off with a Friday night Worship night. Chad shared the vision of Catch the Wave with our friends and family in Orange County. We wanted to start there with some of the friendships we’ve had going back a long time. Chad actually grew up in Laguna Niguel, then Julia finished her studies and Asuza Pacific and she and Chad were youth pastors in Orange County for several years. Lots of friendships with rich history in that area.
Saturday we went to the beach and had a worship and prayer time on the water. People were on paddle boards, surfboards, in kayaks, any kind of water craft. We even had a couple of goats join us.
Afterward we grilled hotdogs and shared them with people on the beach. We were able to minister to several people. We found the food an easy conversation starter. We were able to pray with 4 different people. Two people gave their lives to Jesus and one person’s shoulder was healed. All during our beach community day.
The team went to coffee and dinner that night and continued to share the gospel with the people they met.
Sunday morning we wrapped up the weekend at Celebration Church. We shared testimonies from the weekend along with personal testimonies for family reconciliation and had an opportunity to pray for the church body.
That weekend families, generations, and legacy came up quite a bit. We are excited for Catch the Wave, grateful for Lonnie Frisbee, the Jesus People Movement, Azusa Street Revival, and the many revivalist that have gone before us. We want to be so intentional in what we are building for future generations.
